Pacific Crest Trail FROM WHITEWATER TO WINDY POINT(golden canyon)

Saturday, March 12

HI Group,
I will be doing this hike only once this year.
I know many want get beyond the first few lines of this description so here are the essentials.

7:30 am to 1 pm
Includes hike, driving from location to location and breaks on the hike.

1. Moderate to Hard Hike due to elevation gain and distance. Though hikers can hike with us and then turn around instead of doing full hike.

2. Requires car transport. Cars parked in two locations.
It helps if everyone is prepared to drive or at least leave room for 2 additional passengers in your car once we park at the first location....Note that road is rough to get to one of the parking locations.

3. Water water water. Someone alway seems to not bring enough water for this hike.

4. This is a perfect trail to hike for our Catalina Backpackers. Those who are doing the backpacking trip should bring their backpacks on this hike.

5. Dog friendly trail, but you must secure the car transport for your dog. Remember that we must park cars in 2 locations thus another driver must be ok with dogs in their car.

6. You will have to read on for meeting time and meeting location.

---------------------------
The trail is not easy, but it is beautiful and quiet typically.
7.5 miles
1400ft elevation climb and 1700ft drop.
I would rate similar to Lykken Trail, Murray Peak, or Art Smith with me in the past.
The whole hike takes about 4 hours. That is hiking and rest stops.
Meeting Place is
Pacific Crest Trail Cottonwood Canyon Parking Lot.

THE DESCRIPTION
So why do this after the above description makes it seem difficult to hike and to coordinate?
This is such a pretty desert area on the Pacific Crest Trail
I am hoping to see some wildflowers, but who knows with the dry season.
Whitewater to Windy Point/Cottonwood.
Hike on the Pacific Crest Trail
The journey takes over rolling hills and into beautiful canyons.
There are old signs of years gone bye with cattle staging areas.
And sometimes we have seen cattle grazing in the hills.
The flowers may be blooming
